SPOTLIGHT ON TALENT: CHE EVANS
Guard, Dulaney High School, 2020
By Chris Cobb
Che Evans is a sophomore Dulaney High School in Baltimore. The 6’6” 4-star Guard is already attracting attention from colleges across the country. Evans says he is enjoying the college recruiting process. He has a total of eleven scholarship offers including Georgetown, Florida and Villanova, to name a few. Even with all that the attention, Evans is not in a rush to commit to a school. Evans just wants to focus on high school and continue to improve his game. This year is Evans’s first appearance at the Skins vs. Shirts Basketball Classic (SVSBC) and his first time playing at a college stadium. Evans said, “To play in my hometown and in front of all my friends and family will be lots of fun.” Dulaney High will face off against Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Evans has friends who play for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and likes the idea of competing against them. He knows the competition in the SVSBC will be strong and that he has to play his best. Evans is looking forward to competing against the best players in the area. Evans is rising to the challenge, knowing that he will need to play his best game. Evans anticipates that his opponents will be playing their best and he plans to use this opportunity to push himself to play better and harder. On the court, Evans emulates Oklahoma City Thunder player Carmello Anthony. Like Evans, Anthony is from Baltimore. Evans has great court vision and likes to attack the basket with both hands. Being a sophomore, Evans will only get better and soon everyone in the country will know his name.
